And how and where should I save the description file ?

I'm also in search of a good IDE for Vala. While learning a language (and for me also learning GNOME) it's super nice to be able to browse the libraries using code completion. For example, I type "Gtk." and then I scroll down in the code completion list and find "Gtk.Button" and I think "ah okay dude this must be the button class in GTK" etc. Also seeing the documentation in a separate box next to the code completion popup is nice but that's probably going to be hard since there is only good C documentation for GTK and Valadoc doesn't seem to have good text docs yet, only method signatures. Later on I guess a good debugging experience is my second wish (luckily you already did some work with GDB? heh, that's just awesome). Thanks for all the work so far and please keep it up!!

Theoretically, it's still being maintained, but in practice, I don't have the motivation to keep working on it. I still have a patch queue waiting to be finalized and pushed.
I also need some feedback from users on how to improve it, what's annoying, what's needed, etc...
I'd love to see Vala in Anjuta working as well as Java in Netbeans or Eclipse, but it's a bit demotivating to see that nobody cares enough.
I was thinking of putting it in anjuta-extras but maybe I'll keep maintaining it as a third party plugin.

I'll try to look if it still works with latest Vala, expect some news shortly,
